Our Story

Oakland Building Services Ltd was established in February 1996 as a family-run business and is currently managed by Managing Director, John Sinnott.

John’s vision was to develop and operate a personal, communicative and responsive service-driven business.

As a Company, our aim is to provide a partnering philosophy with a view to understanding our Client’s requirements and delivering Client expectations on time and on budget, providing excellence as standard.

We are proud of our record of long standing relationships, undertaking fast track projects with particular emphasis on delivering high standards of service and a superior quality end product.

Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement is to provide a competitive, professional and transparent, relationship-based Service to ensure our Client’s needs are understood and achieved with a view to developing an ongoing working confidence ensuring quality, design, programming and cost implications are met.

Particular emphasis is given to social, economic and environmental sustainability and the importance of whole-life costs in delivering value for money, sustainable projects.

Our ethos is to work closely with our clients to implement sustainable strategies generating specific business benefits, including cost savings through lower energy consumption and reduced disposal and material purchasing costs.

Key Personnel

John Sinnott, Managing Director, is responsible for the day to day running of the business for nearly 20 years, with Construction experience spanning 30 years.

Kathleen Hegarty our General Manager and Policy Coordinator, Kathleen is in charge of maintaining and updating all of our policy documents and onsite procedures. Ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times by all team members and subcontractors, Kathleen is also responsible for all Health & Safety issues, recruitment and HR requirements. Also, Kathleen takes charge of tender preparation with the Estimating Team, coordinating the commercial and technical submissions.

Declan Sinnott comes from a carpentry/trades background and has gained extensive experience in Project Management, co-ordination and project delivery during the last 15 years. Declan is committed to getting the best from his team, with high regard for quality and Health & Safety.

Aydin Voghufi works within our Finance Team. He works closely with Senior Management with regards to materials procurement and financial management of suppliers and subcontractors.
