Waste Management
Oakland Building Services Ltd’s Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) sets out how resources will be managed and waste controlled at all stages during a construction project.
All projects in England with an estimated construction cost of over £300,000 must have a SWMP before work begins.
A SWMP covers:

Who will be responsible for resource management;

What types of waste will be generated;

How the waste will be managed – will it be reduced, reused or recycled?

Which contractors will be used to ensure the waste is correctly recycled or disposed of responsibly and legally;

How the quantity of waste generated by the project will be managed.
Responsible Procurement
Oakland building Services ltd will pro-actively conduct its procurement process in line with the Mayor’s Green Procurement Code and the GLA Group Responsible Procurement Policy. Within its obligations and in compliance with EU and UK legislation, Oakland Building Serves Ltd will adopt the principles of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and “Buy Recycled”.
Oakland Building Services Ltd is committed to applying these principles in procurement of Goods, Works and Services, where the required criteria for performance and cost effectiveness can be met. Oakland Building Services Ltd will actively promote “The Mayor’s Green Procurement Code” throughout its supply chain and support the Mayor’s vision of London as an exemplary, sustainable, world city.

Energy Conservation
Oakland Building Services Ltd try to reduce the energy and water consumption of our business and minimise CO² emissions.
We will invest in the improved energy efficiency of products we use and investigate environmentally safe and sustainable energy sources, minimising energy in construction and minimum energy in use.
Use of Local Labour
Oakland Building Services Ltd is a London based organisation and, as such, employs operatives throughout the London area.
In line with best practice and aware of the need to promote socially responsible employment practices, Oakland Building Services Ltd try to employ local labour wherever is it is practical to keep jobs within the local economy.
